In January of this year, the Executive Boards of the Clearwater Chargers and Countryside Lightning Soccer Clubs completed the merger of our two Clubs. This merger brings together the rich histories and outstanding traditions of both Clubs, and, in so, giving all the Players, Parents, Coaches and Board members a bright and exciting future in our new organization, the CLEARWATER SOCCER CLUB.
The Club will continue to focus on all aspects of soccer, including, Recreational teams, Competitive teams, U.S. Development Academy programs and the outstanding T.O.P.S program. Every aspect is vital to the success of this new Club, knowing that hurdles are sure to come up, we are committed to making this Club a place for all our members to be proud of!
Our Competitive teams will continue to play at the highest level of competition, including the Premier Youth League in the State, the Club Directors League (CDL), the Region III League, FLUGSA, the Florida State League (FSL), United Soccer Association (USA) as well as the USYSA National League. I addition our teams will have the opportunity to participate in the NIKE Friendlies, Manchester United Cup as well as other Show case events during the year.
We are also very proud of being selected as a member of the United States Soccer Federations,
Development
Academy , a program that will be the cornerstone of the Clubs foundation for many years to come. For more information on this program, go to www.ussoccer.com click on U.S. Soccer Development Academy icon.
The Recreational program will continue to grow with a dedicated staff to over see the day to day operation of this program. A Director of Administration will handle the registration and office responsibility and two dedicated Directors of Coaching will each handle a part of the coaching program.
The need for volunteers is also a vital part of building a CLUB atmosphere; we will always need our members to staff and support the Club in its many functions during the year, without your support it would not be possible to have a Club that has always been a leader in the soccer community.
Tryout information, sites, times and coaching staff will be posted on both web sites in April and May. All teams will go through tryouts as one Club Starting this year. It is the goal of the Club, to build the program with two or more teams in each age group, with all teams receiving the same commitment from the coaches and Club as the next, in order to form a solid foundation for years to come. The Club will have a place for all players at every level to play, develop, learn and have a positive experience!
Please keep checking the current website of both Clubs for further updates on the
CLEARWATER SOCCER CLUB.
